Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I be baptized?

You should be baptized to follow the example set by Jesus, because Christ commands us to be baptized, and because it demonstrates you are a true believer.

Mark 1:9 “And it came about in those days that Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptized byJohn in the river.”

Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

1 John 2:3 “We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands.”

What is the meaning of baptism?

Baptism in water illustrates Christ’s burial and resurrection in the same way it illustrates your new life as a believer.

1 Corinthians 15:3 “Christ died for our sins. He was buried and He rose again.”

Colossians 2:12 “When you were baptized you were buried with Christ and in baptism you were also raised with Christ.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 “When anyone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. The old life has passed away and a new life has begun.”

Why should I be baptized by immersion?

Jesus was baptized by immersion and the word “baptize” literally means “dip under water.” Baptism by immersion also symbolizes a burial and resurrection.

Who should be baptized?

Everyone who accepts Jesus as Savior should be baptized.

Acts 8:12 “Those who believed and accepted His message were baptized.”
