What to Expect

First Visit?:  If you're planning a visit to Horizons, please know that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable and welcomed.  We know it can be rather daunting to visit a new church, and so at Horizons, we'll do our best to prepare you for what to expect in your visit.

First, you'll be greeted at the door by members of our greeter ministry who would be thrilled to answer general questions about our church and to provide you with directions to various areas of the building.  They will also provide you with a bulletin that highlights events of the day as well as future events.

Information Table: An Information Table is located just outside the auditorium. Communication card basket to drop off your sign-up forms for special events, prayer request forms, and additional information about our church are available here.

Hospitality Tables: Coffee, tea and juice is available between services in our gymnasium.

Service Times: Sunday Morning Services are at 8:30, 10 and 11:30am at 12 Flatford Rd. (Directions)

Nursery:  Parents are welcome to bring their infants and toddlers into the sanctuary; however, we encourage you to take advantage of our supervised nursery for ages birth up to 3

Preschool:  The Preschool Class (ages 3 - Kindergarten) begins at 8:30, 10 and 11:30am.

Kids Church:  Children in 1st - 6th grades - Kids Church meets downstairs in our lower level at 8:30, 10 and 11:30am.

Student Ministry:  Our youth (6th-12th grade) worship with the adults on Sunday mornings.  Sunday night, our Middle School (grades 6-8) and Sr. High (grades 9-12) Youth Group is held from 6 - 8 p.m.

Ushers: As you enter the auditorium, ushers are available to assist you should you have any questions or special needs regarding seating or other general questions.  Should special needs arise during the service, feel free to go to an ushers to request assistance.

A Note About Offering:  As a first-time visitor to Horizons, you are our guest.  We don't expect you to contribute in the offering.  Feel free to sit back and relax as the offering plate is passed.

Greeting our Guests:  During each service, we welcome our first time guests with a round of applause.   We won't put you on the spot or call you to the front.  We will provide you with a guest packet and we just ask that you fill out and turn in our guest card to help us keep record of your visit with us.

Guest Reception: If you are interested in finding out more about Horizons Church and meeting our pastors and other leaders, you’re invited to a Guest Reception immediately following the service in the hallway outside of the auditorium as you exit at the Blue Tent.  We have a gift we would like to present to you, and we look forward to answering any questions you may have.

According to God's Word:

We Clap Our Hands: Psalm 41:1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout to God with the voice of joy.

We Sing to the Lord: Psalm 18:49: Therefore I will give thanks to You among the nations, O Lord, and I will sing praises to Your Name.

We Raise Our Hands: Psalm 63:4: I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.

We Pray for People: James 5:14: Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

We Use Spiritual Gifts: 1 Corinthians 14:1: Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts.
